AdBm-logoAdBm Technologies, which created a noise abatement system to protect marine life from underwater oil and gas drilling operations, is a finalist in the Founder.org Big Ideas Competition.
AdBm is one of 10 finalists in the competition, which received more than 500 submissions.
The competition’s mission is “to inspire students to chase big ideas and become founders of impactful companies that drive innovation and economic growth.”
Founders.org has narrowed the field down to 10 Big Ideas Finalists from 50 semifinalists, which included five companies from the Austin Technology Incubator at the University of Texas at Austin.
The winner receives a $100,000 grant to pursue their idea.
The other finalists include three teams from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology: Billbacker, a program that provides analysis on politician’s views on bills, Mediuum, a digital art project and SproutsIO, an urban organic food production system.
The University of California at Berkeley has two teams in the final competition: Eko Devices, a smart phone app for cardiovascular monitoring and Pristine, a mobile retail data analysis project.
Other teams include Securly, a web filter from the University of Pennsylvania, Sensible Baby, a baby monitoring device from Harvard Business School, Smart Vision Labs, a portable vision examination device, from New York University and Verdigris Building, a smart home sensor system, from Stanford University.
