After years of complaints that SXSW was getting “too big” and “too crazy” and “too much of a zoo,” many people who have been at the Interactive conference over the years have commented that the conference seemed quieter this year…less crazy.
Even with the President of the United States in attendance. This should be a good thing, but it also seems a little eerie and begs the question: Are the numbers down?
According to Kelly Krause, in charge of press for Interactive, they don’t give out official numbers until the festival is over but they believe the number of badgeholders is about the same as last year—33,825.
“With new hotels downtown, we were able to spread out a bit more, plus the great weather makes a difference.” Events are being held not only at the Convention Center but also at the Hyatt, Hilton, Marriott, Westin, Four Seasons and several other venues.
So, just in case you were wondering.
