At Startup Grind 2014 in Mountain View, Calif. last week, a few people said Atlassian would be opening an office in Austin.
And the folks at the booth for Hipchat, the company’s group chat and IM tool, confirmed that, but they would not provide any more information.
It seems Lori Hawkins at the Austin American-Statesman got the details from the company president. She’s reporting today that Atlassian, an Australian software group, plans to open an Austin office with as many as 300 employees.
Atlassian has more than 30,000 customers including Citigroup, eBay, Coca-Cola, Netflix and United Airlines. It operates in 134 countries and has 750 employees, according to this ZDNet story.
Atlassian also recently moved its headquarters from Australia to the United Kingdom.
