The Austin-based company reports that the new app has a “clean, intuitive interface for more engaging workout experience.”
“2013 has been a busy and productive year so far for the MapMyFitness community – starting the year off with our MVP launch, new partnerships, reaching a major milestone with our 20 millionth member, joining forces with the Under Armour team and now a complete overhaul of our mobile iOS apps,” Robin Thurston, CEO, MapMyFitness said in a news release. “We listened to our users, took advantage of the new iOS 7 design features and revamped our mobile app to provide an even more complete, easy-to-use health and fitness experience.”
The new features include a 3D interactive map, map pins, updated sensor bar, primary stats view and a slide to finish way to end a workout.
The app also includes new routes, music and a new activity feed and enhanced social features such as live tracking, sharing and commenting and new profile displays among other features.
In November, Under Armour announced its acquisition of MapMyFitness for $100 million. Under the deal, the company, and its 100 local employees, maintains its operations in Austin.
